Boston Condo Weekly Update, March 18, 2005

Below is a report of sales and listing activity for the past week. Information is derived from LINK, the online database that is used by most Boston real estate agents.

New listings: 203

Back on market (listings that went under agreement but deals fell through): 9

Price changes (almost always downward, but some go up): 67

Under agreements: 136

Off market (variety of reasons, but sometimes these are old listings that never sell): 67

My opinion: Healthy increase in new listings (33%). Off-markets doubled from last week – not sure the reasoning, but perhaps people were being a bit greedy and had their places on the market for too much. Things should get busier, this week.
