Why mess with success?

So, the US economy grew 3.9%, in the quarter ending September 30.
So, why would the Federal Reserve lower interest rates?
Whyyy??????????
Let it ride, for at least another month. Please.
Someone, have some sense.

The state of the Boston real estate market

I received the following email in my Inbox, earlier today. Interesting question, followed by my interesting answer.
Great blog/website (although you seem to have become more tempestuous, capricious and uneven, recently).
I noticed that the “North East” of the U.S. has had an increase of new construction starts in September 2007 of 45.4%, and a 10% [...]

The West End, re-envisioned

Charlie on the MTA has unleashed a brash proposal for re-developing the West End into a healthy, vibrant neighborhood.

Or, as he puts it:
My proposal is to re-establish a dense urban neighborhood of narrow streets, low-rise (3 to 4 story) residential w/ground-floor retail at some street corners, and [...]

SoHa Lofts rebranded as “The 1850″

It’s news to me.
According to the Boston Redevelopment Authority’s website, the SoHa Lofts condo development in the South End is now known as “The 1850″.
Can someone drive down there to see what’s going on?

360 Newbury is the most awesome building ever built. Ever.

I have never seen a building as nice as 360 Newbury.
I have never seen a condominium as spectacular as unit #PH7. MLS # 70521894, list price $1,795,000.
From MLS:
Ultimate Penthouse Duplex living with priceless views of Boston! You know the building. Now this architectural icon offers true loft living with incredible views. Look to the [...]

Bob’s Big Boy to close

I mean, Bob The Chef’s, I mean Bob’s Southern Bistro, is closing.
According to the Globe:
Bob’s Southern Bistro, a South End (sic) hotspot known for its tasty soul food and nightly jazz and for years a magnet for the city’s African-American community, is being sold to a new owner who wants to turn it into an [...]

More good news: I’m popular

Ha!
If you use Firefox, you can automatically see each website’s Google PageRank. I’ve been stuck at 4/10 or 5/10 for the past year or two.
I looked this evening … and I’m finally at 6/10.
Those are Curbed.com numbers.
