When Frank McCourt wanted to move the team to a waterfront park in Southie, no one in the 'hood was singing his praises for trying to improve a development backwater. As someone who lived within shouting distance of Fenway for five years while studying at Northeastern, I can tell you that Red Sox game days were not something we looked forward to unless we had tickets, even if it was tacitly understood that it was good for the city to have the team located in Boston (as opposed to, say, Foxborough). Games made it impossible to get around, by car or by T. Sacreligious only because it’s the
