Waterman’s Funeral Home to be born again, as condos
Last year, a real estate investment trust purchased the property at 493-497 Commonwealth Ave for $5,650,000. This was previously the long-time location of the S. Waterman & Sons Funeral Home.
Kimco, the real estate company that bought the three circa-1895 buildings, is well-known as a shopping center investor, so it was odd that it would get involved in developing such a small property.
Even odder that the company is now proposing to turn the set of buildings into seven condominiums.
A Board of Appeal meeting will be held on the change in zoning, 9 December.
