   New York was ranked 1st in that Forbes article. The article states that the data is based on sales between December 2007 and December 2008.

   “But now sales in the city have slowed so significantly that worried developers are planning to auction off some luxury condos in the spring for around half of what they were asking just a year ago.

   Developers who are awash in unsold inventory see auctions as a tactic to jolt a paralyzed public to life.

   A two-bedroom on the Upper East Side, for example, could be marked down to $1.1 million from $2.2 million.”

   It’s only a matter of time, unfortunately. Unemployment is expected to be in the high 8’s here in MA, and going are very white collar jobs. With that said, I think Boston will hold up better than NYC.

   Begs the question of what “best” and “worse” mean here. From my reading of the Forbes article, “best” translates into “still overpriced” and “worse” means “finally affordable”. If it were my article, I would reverse the terms. I suspect a lot of finance writers must be married to a real estate agent.
