Since the start of 2009, we have had 13 bank failures. In all of 2007 we had a total of three (3) banks failures.

The FDIC has identified 76 banks as “in trouble” – a 52% increase from a year ago.

    Historically those figures really aren’t all that bad. 13 banks failing in 2008 vs. 10,000 bank failures in 1933, or 3,000+ bank (Savings & Loan) failures in 1987-88.
