A new car or a Boston condo?

It’s now possible to buy a two bedroom condo in Boston for less than the price of a new Honda Accord. At least three Boston condos were sold in 2009 for $25,000 or less….93 Chester Street #A in Allston, 35 Harwood St. #3 in Dorchester and 557 E 2nd St #1 South Boston.

    Umm… aren’t those probably sales between family members or something like that?

    or fire damaged or something like that? i seriously doubt habitable apartments are sold from one stranger to another at quite that price yet. at least in allston and south boston.

    93 Chester looks like a type to me. $214,700 is the sales price listed at a couple of sites.

    And sales from Redfin for 35 Harwood:

    Apr 09, 2009 Sold $25,000
    May 02, 2008 Sold $1
    Feb 15, 2007 Sold $320,000

    None of those look legit.

    And my guess for 557 E 2nd St #1 South Boston is that since the units sell for $500k+, the under $25k price is either a typo or the price for a parking space?

    JohnG, all I can say is that I didn’t make these numbers up they were pulled from LINK’s web site. Perhaps their numbers are wrong I’ll look into on Tues.
