A new downtown restaurant, Stoddard’s Fine Food and Ale located at 50 Temple Street had plans to open November 17th as a private men’s club/restaurant.

Cambridge real estate agent Liz Bolton politely objects to real estate tracker Zillow.com’s methodology for determining the best candy-rich Halloween towns.

Ugh.
The rest of the nation may have come out of recession last quarter, causing minor celebrations on Wall Street yeserday.
But Massachusetts was still in its own recession last quarter.
The big question is: What happened? Wasn’t the state supposed to be in better economic position than the rest of the nation?

The state isn’t getting much bang for its federal stimulus buck.
Gov. Deval Patrick announced yesterday that the $1.9 billion in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act money he’s spent so far has “created or retained” 23,533 jobs.
That’s $80,737 per job over just seven months.

National apartment developer Equity Residential reported a $43.7 million drop in the third quarter, posting net income of $143.4 million for 2009 compared to Q3 2008 income of $187.1 million – a decline of 23.4 percent.
