The price is right!

price-is-right-real-estate

Believe it or not, the asking price of $18 million to $25 million for the Back Bay’s Ames-Webster building is not that out of line.

At 26,000 square feet, it comes out to a mere $692 per square foot to $961 per square foot — or well under $1 million per fireplace. Dare we say, such prices are not unheard of in certain neighborhoods and towns.

Of course you have to come up with $18 million to $25 million — and there’s no mention of parking spaces, gosh darn it.

I looked at renting an office in the Ames-Webster building a few years back. Very interesting building, but I think it is money pit. It would take a lot of money to turn the building into condos.

Then it should sell at that price, no?
