By En Fuego you must mean fire sale prices or condo owners burned by the bubble . Median means nothing, look at resales if you want to know what’s happening:

    From Today:

153 Beacon St #2 – sold today for 1.3 million just 5k more than 2003, just to stay even with inflation it would have had to have sold for 1.525 million…fuego

    Hello Mary,

I’m a little disappointed I thought you could do better than this. Keep searching.

I am sorry John what didn’t you like about that one? It clearly shows the aughts as a wasted decade for homeowners…

How ’bout something that relates to today market hmm :

InterContinental unit 16J sold today for $1,025,000 or $255,000.00 less than in August of ‘08…..Feuer!

Mary, I enjoy reading your comments. Can we agree as “condobuyer” said – let the stats do the talking?

Mary, of course you can “cherry pick” sales data and so can I. The question is, will our debate moving forward be about “macro” Boston condo economic sales or … “micro” Boston economic sales? I’m willing to play either game.

“Mary, of course you can “cherry pick” sales data and so can I”

Have at it, show me price increases on resale properties in the recent past (2005-2010). I have no need to cherry pick the fruit’s hanging low:

    Back Bay today, one sale:

293 Marlborough sold for 4.7m or 200k less than in 2008 and 1/2m less than asking…
