Earlier today, Trulia.com came out with a report regarding U.S cities with real estate “asking price” reductions. The report compared price reductions in April 2009 with April 2010. Here are the results for Boston:

Massachusetts is among the 10 most expensive states for renters, according to a new report from the National Low Income Housing Coalition.

In March 2010, according to LINK, 37 condos sold for $1M and above.
The avg sales price – $1,969,128
Med sales price – $1,680,000
Avg price per sq ft – $947
Based on the sales data, 10 out of the 37 sales were from new luxury condo developments such as the W, the Clarendon, FP3 and Zero Marlborough.

Not all Boston sellers are cutting asking prices to sell their condos. MLS reported that Campion & Company sold 100 Beacon Street #8 for asking price. But it did take some time. The property was first listed for sale on 1/24/2008 for $6,250,000 and sold on 4/14/2010 for the same price of $6,250,000.
