   Unfortunately this movie isn’t very effective for making its point. The U.S. national debt as a percentage of GDP is actually lower in 2010 than it was in 1950.

   The real issue is that the U.S. government is now having to take on $3 trillion dollars of new debt to bail out the financial system. The next problem is that with the baby boomers getting ready to retire, not enough taxes are being collected to pay back the government borrowings from the Social Security Trust fund. The other big problem is the cost of medical care is spiraling out of control.

   Really doesn’t say much… they don’t like debt. Does anyone besides Goldman Sacs?

   No solutions besides, “what they think is frivolous spending”

   Can I nominate their #1 issue to be to cut back defense spending and shift that over to paying down debt incurred because of defense spending?
