Boston luxury condos: Who paid the highest price for a Bryant condo?

A potential client asked me a question on the upcoming Bryant auction: What was the highest paid unit per sq. ft. in the Bryant so far (not including penthouse units since they’re not up for auction)? My research results may surprise you.

The highest price per s/f was $892. But this isn’t the surprising part. Guess who paid this price? Jon Gollinger and his wife. Who’s Jon Gollinger? Jon Gollinger is the founder/CEO of  Accelerated Marketing, which, as reported here, is the company in charge of conducting the Bryant auction on November 7, 2010.

Hmm….

    didnt the penthouse unit there on the corner with the large terrace sell for more a square foot?

    Does that mean he was saving the best for himself or does it simply mean that he is much better at promoting an auction than participating in one? Perhaps he saw the value in this unit that no one else did and wanted to flip it on the real market. Does anyone know what unit it was?

    Or perhaps, he wanted to raise the “highest per square foot” dollar amount paid for a unit, in order to convince other potential bidders that higher bids are in line with what has previously been paid…just a thought.
