A new report says Massachusetts has the best foreclosure deals in the country, if we’re reading this right, providing a 53 percent “foreclosure savings” to buyers of foreclosed homes.
Not sure if this No. 1 ranking is all that it seems. They define “foreclosure savings” as the average sales price of foreclosures to the average sales [...]

This is one of those infuriating economic reports that drive people crazy. Ready? Here goes:
The state’s jobless rate fell to 7.3 percent last month, from 7.4 percent in August. The national average is 9.1 percent. So far, so good. We like good news.

The Federal Reserve’s Beige Book report came out today.
First the somewhat good news: This past summer’s stock market volatility may not have harmed the economy as much as some feared. It’s still growing, though not at a level that will create a lot of jobs.

The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court has issued a ruling that questions the legal ownership of those who purchased foreclosed homes, throwing the state’s housing market into potential chaos. Edward M. Bloom, president of the Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts, on the ruling:
