This is interesting: The Boston metro area isn’t in the top 10 list of metro areas with the highest median home prices in the third quarter.
Boston usually makes such lists, but maybe it just wasn’t a good third quarter here.

One has to wonder how the U.S. economy — and housing market — would be faring if it wasn’t for the financial crisis in Europe. The Dow got killed today.
Of course, the European financial crisis was a direct consequence of our financial crisis. So we can’t whine too much.

The word I’m hearing from Boston real estate agents is that Figs, the flower shop on Charles Street, has just closed down.
