Contrary to early hopes that the old Locke-Ober restaurant might be later revived after last month’s closing, it looks like the new owners are planning to open a new restaurant, with a new name, on Winter/Jackson Place in Downtown Crossing.
From a real estate standpoint, the other interesting thing is that the new owners, who paid $3.3 million for the Locke-Ober property, are planning to put residences in the property’s upper floors. No other details available.
They could be very attractive condos/apartments if handled right. The Jackson Place alley nook is really pretty cool for those who like that Old World urban feel.
