To those of us in the real-estate business, Robert Shiller is best known as the co-creator of the famous Case-Schiller Housing Price Indices.
From hereonin, he will be always be known by everyone for another reason: As the co-winner of the 2013 Nobel Prize in economics, along with two other American ecconomists
Here’s the Nobel’s official announcement.
A big congrats to Robert Shiller.
In case you didn’t know, Karl Case, or the first half of the Case-Shiller duo, is a long-time Wellesley economist who’s now at Harvard. Allan Weiss, a Brandeis grad, also help found the indices. They didn’t win the prize, which went to Shilling for a whole body of housing and other economic work. But Karl and Allan are probably pretty proud and wowed today as well.
