Five signs you’re a ‘renter for life’

Boston Apartments

Boston Apartments

Here’s a piece about the five signs that you’re probably a born apartment renter, as opposed to a home/condo buyer.

OK, we agree on all five of them, especially “you want to phone it in” (i.e you hate yard work, fixing things, etc.) and “you don’t understand” (or you might blissfully even like not understanding finances).

But here’s some other signs that maybe you’re a renter for life: A.) you stubbornly insist on living in expensive cities like New York, San Francisco, Boston etc. and can’t conceive of moving, even though you can barely make ends meet. B.) you live in a rent controlled apartment and don’t care a damn if you buy or not C.) you’re stuck with alimony payments for the rest of your life (or your ex’s), so forget about buying. D.) you can never make up your mind whether saving up for a downpayment or going out for after-work drinks is more important in your life E.) you’re Edward Snowden and have to stay on the move. F.) you don’t work in finance.

Those are just a few. Feel free to send in your own suggestions.

Have a great weekend everyone!

  • Or you could very well understand finances and the numbers work out in favor of renting for you.
