This is interesting: The state is asking for public comments on the massive redevelopment plan for the Government Center Garage over Congress Street.
Strange, but the mixed-use project has already been approved by the city.
Granted, this is apparently a state EPA review of the project that includes tearing down most of the garage and constructing six new buildings, including a 528-foot office tower.
But does anyone really believe the state review will lead to any major changes?
Maybe we’re being too cynical.
Not that we oppose the project. We don’t. But … just wondering.
