Boston landlords not happy with energy-audit plan

Mayor Walsh is apparently pushing for a compromise 120-day delay in implementing a new program requiring energy audits of large apartment buildings in Boston.

The Greater Boston Real Estate Board wants a full-year delay – and isn’t happy with just a 120-day delay.

Actually, it’s safe to say the board, which represents apartment owners, would like a permanent delay, but that’s another matter.

From the GBREB: “GBREB supports delaying the implementation of the new law in Boston to give owners more time to understand the new law and comply.”

The new rule applies to apartment buildings of more than 35,000 square feet, or roughly 35 units.
