Beacon Hill Neighborhood

Conceived in 1795, Beacon Hill was the first of the elegant residential districts laid out by Charles Bulfinch. Bulfinch’s federal-era architecture can be especially seen on Beacon Hill’s Mt. Vernon Street which runs from the Charles River to the current site of the Massachusetts State House.
