Now it’s really war.
The Beacon Hill Civic Association is suing the city over installation of concrete handicapped ramps at intersections throughout the neighborhood.
Obviously, it’s important to make the neighborhood handicapped accessible — and if changes have to be made, they have to be made.
But we’re talking about really ugly ramps that they’re installing (click here to see these brutes). Couldn’t they find something more aesthetically and historically acceptable and do they really need so many?
Say what you will about opponents. But they’re actually trying to preserve the historic nature of a district, not make life miserable for the disabled. Let’s hope a common-sense compromise is found.
