Massachusetts home sales rise as condo sales fall off the cliff for January

Nearly 10,000 residences have been foreclosed upon in Massachusetts from the beginning of the year through Aug. 31, already topping the 9,269 foreclosures that took place in 2009.

Massachusetts pending home sales drop in August

The Massachusetts Association of Realtors says pending single-family home sales dropped by 10 percent in August, compared with last year.
But the group’s president, Kevin Sears, says a federal tax credit inflated last year’s sales, making that 10 percent drop less worrisome.
