I’m pleased to announce that my company, John A Keith Real Estate, is now helping both buyers and sellers of homes in Boston.
Previously, I worked exclusively as a buyer’s agent.
I have now expanded my services to help sellers, too.
If you are considering listing your home for sale, I encourage you to learn more about how [...]

Tip for sellers, out there.
Conventional wisdom says, if your agent has shown your home eight to 10 times with nary a sign of any offer, then it should be clear: you need to lower the price.
Seriously, a lot of times sales agents won’t even have that conversation with their clients. Afraid of bringing up [...]

I had a deal fall apart yesterday. Very disappointing for my clients, the buyers. I was sorry, too. It was a great property and would have made an awesome home for the two of them.
The reasons the deal fell apart are not very important. (The bank would not make the loan, [...]

I did some research to see where things stand regarding single-family homes for sale throughout several Massachusetts cities and towns.
My research was by no means exhaustive.
Still, it gives a quick snapshot of the situation you may find yourself in, if you are thinking of selling your home … or thinking of buying one.
I chose ten [...]

I just want to clarify (correct) something I read in the newspaper, yesterday.
The majority of Massachusetts’ towns and cities are not “drowning in homes” (for sale).
Inventory levels are not high, right now.
You can debate as much as you’d like about why inventory isn’t higher (owners have given up, etc., etc., etc.) but you cannot contradict [...]

Think New York City real estate is expensive?
Yeah, I know you do.
Well, things are “worse” in London.
The Times has a story out today about a young couple looking to buy their first home. A fixer-upper, they cobbled together as much money as they could and found a nice little home.
For $4.34 million.
The story is [...]

Selling your home is really really hard and almost impossible. Being a real estate agent takes the skill and intelligent similar to being a cardiologist or Nobel Prize-winning scientist. It’s really really hard to sell your home, and, especially in this market, near impossible.
I’m joking!
All you really have to do is price your [...]

So, if you are thinking of selling your home, and you decide to use a real estate agent to sell your home (which you should), here’s something you may not know.
If your agent is a member of our local Multiple Listing Service, MLSPIN, then, when he or she enters the listing into the database, it [...]

You know what must be tough?
Buying your condo in 2004 for $725,000 and then having to put it on the market in mid-2007 for $699,000.
Which means, after commission, you’re only going to end up with around $665,000.
That’s a $60,000 loss.
By the way, it’s a good time to remind you all, losses on the sale of [...]
