Economic Collapse was bound to happen

If it wasn’t the housing market, something else would have triggered the nation’s economic collapse, Richard F. Syron, former chief executive officer of the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp., told a group of investors yesterday.

In his 30-minute speech at Boston College’s annual Asset Management Conference, Syron declined to discuss his days at Freddie Mac.
