From the Boston Herald:
The former Filene’s building in Downtown Crossing has been buttoned up for winter.
“The building is substantially wrapped with a protective waterproof fabric,” said Bryan Glascock, director of Boston’s Department of the Environment.
The Boston Redevelopment Authority has been working with the developers’ preservation team since last spring to protect the gutted building’s shell from exposure to the weather. Vornado Realty Trust and Gale International agreed to seal the building site’s roof and cover the exposed side of the building with a mesh material.
