Massachusetts yesterday received its strongest evidence yet that the end of the recession may be near.
The state reported that Bay State employers added 4,900 new jobs to payrolls last month, the first net gain of jobs in a year in Massachusetts.
The state saw growth in the health, education, professional, scientific and leisure industries, though manufacturing and construction continued to take it on the jobs chin last month.
