The Boston Herald today has an item on a suggestion on how the state can close its deficit gap: sell off the state house, the Zakim Bridge, and maybe even the entire Pike. As the article notes, don’t laugh — other states have sold off their state capitols and now lease the space from private owners. And there’s been talk before of selling off the state lottery. But … pesky state laws prohibit a lot of privatization ideas.
