Another profile piece on developer Steven B Samuels, in today’s Boston Globe. (Do you think he was called Sam Stevens a lot, as a kid?)
He is the developer behind the Trilogy apartments (no, not Trilogy condos, they’re all apartments, all 580 of them, all 17 stories of them). He is also building a massive residential, retail, and commercial complex at 1330 Boylston Street (where the Domino’s Pizza is, among other things).
He has put money down on two of the ICA’s buildings, on the other part of Boylston Street, and has been looking into buying the Filene’s building, according to published reports.
It’s a good example of someone being able to navigate the torturous paths of Boston development, making a profit for himself, and giving more people a place to live.
