The developer of the 235-room, 28-story W Hotel has filed for bankruptcy. The developer, SW Boston Hotel Venure LLC, listed liabilities of between $100 million and $500 million. Today news first broke around 6:00 p.m. with a tweet by Boston Globe business page editor Shirley Leung in a post on Twitter. A quick search found The Herald had posted this story: W Hotel Boston developer files for bankruptcy.
From The Herald story: “The property has 123 condos above the hotel, ranging in price from $350,000 for a studio to $1.9 million for a three bedroom.” It also mentioned that the Stuart Street hotel received a $10.5 million loan from the city last year.
