Joe Fallon offered a sneak peak of his plans for the South Boston Waterfront (what I call the Fan Pier / Seaport District redevelopment), and everything sounds and looks great.
It’s not a small project.
When completed, it will take up 21 acres, nine city blocks and three million square feet of residences, offices, shops and restaurants.
In addition, there will be two major parks and a marina, and the Boston Harborwalk would keep the area accessible to the public.
The first buildings will be a condo tower and hotel, to be constructed next to the new Institute of Contemporary Art.
And, there will be no brick.
