Boston Real Estate for Sale

 A story about what’s in a name

The other day, I received an email from someone who wanted to sell me a domain name. The domain name had the words Beacon Hill in them so the seller must have assumed I would be interested in this domain name since I’m a Beacon Hill Realtor.

I happen to tell another Beacon Hill Realtor about the email, and she told me that it happens to her all the time.

What she told me next took me by surprise.

How babies and future Boston real estate agents are named

Apparently, she told me that she read an article on how parents pick the names of their children based on available domain names. When she told me this a couple of days ago, I kind of chuckled and thought of my own obsession with domain names. I happen to own dozens (and dozens) of domain names, not of babies, but of Boston real estate for sale domain names. Examples: fordrealty.com. fordrealty.net. bostonluxurycondosforsale.com. you get the idea.

Anyway, she told me that. Godaddy the seller of domain names conducted a study, and the findings shocked even her regarding the next generation of names of Beacon Hill Realtors.

Are you serious?

I yearn for the simpler days, remember how George Costanza of Seinfeld came up with a child’s name if he were to have had a kid.
