Are Compass real estate agents getting shortchanged?
I have no direct knowledge on what is going on with real estate agents working for Compass, but I did get this email from a Boston real estate blog reader:
In your article and research about Compass and it’s clawbacks to agents, did you happen to come across any actual Compass manuals? Or hear of a reduced commission split to 40% on top of the incentive paybacks? Just curious, this is what quietly is being done to us. Also, the incentives claimed to be paid to agent on 1099 do not match incentives being demanded back. High difference. And no income adjustments or recordings on 1099 for monies withheld to be paid back on incentives.
Another great article for you as so many agents continue to flee or are handcuffed in. They can also fire “for cause” without a reason at any time and demand these paybacks.
