Hi, this is John Ford of Ford Realty and this is your weekly update regarding Boston real estate for sale and the COVID-19 outbreak update.
Boston Real Estate for Sale – The new normal
Viewing Boston real estate for sale, is no longer a recreational hobby to occupy your Sunday afternoons. Gone are the days where one can jump from one Open House to another viewing Beacon Hill condos for sale.
Moving forward, 2020 will be the year of the serious Boston condo buyer. Recently, the downtown Boston real estate community has adapted on their own (not mandated) a safer and a more manageable way of showing property during this pandemic and for the foreseeable future.
Serious Boston condo buyers first step will be to view properties virtually. If everything checks out, the buyers broker will schedule an appointment with the sells’ agent. Prior to the showing, the sellers’ agent will have both the buyer and buyer’s agent sign some form of document or declaration essentially outlining the risks of entering the property during the pandemic.
The buyer will need to provide a pre-approval letter stating the you’re qualified to buy at list price before entering. Upon entering the buyer will need to wear masks and gloves to the showing. In addition, there will be a limited number of people to view the property at one time.
Here in Boston, we’re a long way off from resuming open houses in the traditional manner. If you’re planning to purchase Boston real estate for sale in 2020, it’s good to know ahead of time what you should expect. I hope this information was useful to you.
