Boston’s Christian Science Church is now eying a new 35-story residential tower, a 15-story hotel and another building around its famous plaza area – and some historic preservations are effectively saying ‘hold on.’
A major controversy doesn’t seem to be brewing — yet. It appears – appears – most everyone is in agreement about preserving the strikingly beautiful plaza, easily one of the most attractive spots in Boston, evoking a very European feel (even if the plaza is somewhat underutilized from a public perspective).
But the church’s plans are still not quite clear, judging from comments from community activists in the article. Maybe a take-it-slow attitude is the right approach.
