From today’s Globe:
City Hall has announced that Evelyn Friedman, executive director of the community development corporation Nuestra Comunidad for 17 years, will become chief of housing and director of the Department of Neighborhood Development.
The development department works to prevent foreclosures and assist homeowners and potential homeowners, and oversees affordable-housing programs. As the department head, Friedman will serve as one of 14 members of the mayor’s cabinet and supervise a staff of about 200.
