The news is mixed but with some upside from the Massachusetts Association of Realtors’ report for pending home sales for November. According to MAR, pending home sales in November were basically flat-to-slightly-up compared to the same month a year ago — the first time they’ve been flat in six months from prior year numbers. Statewide, condos put under agreement were down 9 percent compared to the same month a year ago, which is hardly surprising but still not great news.
The number of pending home sales was 3,404, compared to 3,387 in Nov. of 2009. The month-to-month number (from October to November) of single family homes put under agreement slid, however, by 6.3 percent. That’s not quite that surprising as we enter the quiet period of the selling year.
