Beacon Hill potluck gathering
The timer went off, waking me up from an afternoon nap. I put on my kitchen mittens. My gloves wrap around piping hot trophy take-out, I head out of my Beacon Hill condo. Walking quickly, I see the steam fogging the glass cover of my porcelain dish.
I bump into a man enrobed in vibrant blankets: royal blue, regal red, and pure white. His shoes are a garish gold, as he leans against the CVS wall.
He waits to reclaim the brick sidewalk mattress I trespass. His hands tremble holding a hymnal. A voice sings in my ear: “For He…shall give his angels…charge over thee…”
Thus, I trade my Pad Thai for a psalm and a smile, as I head towards my pot luck gathering at a Beacon Hill apartment.
