I bet you didn’t know this about the Boston Common
In my close to 30 years as working as a Boston condo for sale broker, walking from Beacon Hill to Midtown and visa versa, I never took notice of the statue below.
These statues bring significant meaning today, Labor Day.
Lets dive into what they mean, and what I never know about them.
First, these “statues” are in next to the Boston Common Visitor Information Center, this area is called Parkman Plaza.
The three statues
The three statues represent the heart of what makes a Boston a great city.
In order, the first represents a man on his knees giving praise to God. Religion is the building block that build Boston,
The second represents labor, which I hope you get to visit this Labor Day.
The third statue represents Learning. Boston and Cambridge is well known for its top colleges and universities.
The statues were Created by Arcangelo Cascieri and Adio diBiccari, the three bronze figures were dedicated in 1960.
Peace be with you
