I often ask Back Bay or Beacon Hill apartment renters, “Why are you paying so much on monthly apartment rents when you can be paying almost the same for a Boston condo?”

The answer usually boils down to two things, lack of knowledge, or fear.

Here’s a summarized version of the story of overcoming fear.

A wealthy individual with a pool full of alligators offers a significant reward, A million dollars, or marry his daughter and own all his luxury properties, to anyone brave enough to swim across and survive.

Nobody initially takes the challenge, but then a splash is heard. A man is seen swimming frantically towards the other side, pursued by the alligators.

He manages to reach the other side, with only minor injuries.

The millionaire, impressed, congratulates him and asks if he wants the money or marry his daughter.

The man, catching his breath, states before answering the question, he wants to find the person who pushed him into the pool.

Often, the punchline reveals if we’re pushed, we can accomplish things we thought unachievable.

Now, its my turn to push apartment renters into becoming a Boston condo owners.
