There are very few luxury apartment buildings in the city. The Colonnade apartments … hmmm, can’t think of any others. The Avalon apartments at the Prudential aren’t “luxury”, in my opinion, although I haven’t seen the insides.
We now have a couple new mid-rises/high-rises (over 10 stories), the Archstone-Smith building in the Combat Zone Chinatown, and Trilogy, near Fenway Park.
From the descriptions, it sounds as though Archstone-Smith has the better amenities, which is good, since its location is less than prime.
If you work in Chinatown, the Financial District, or at Tufts Medical, Archstone-Smith is a better location; if you work anywhere else, I think Trilogy would be the better choice, although traffic down in that area makes it very unpleasant, at least 81 days a year.
Apartments start in the $2,000 range, going up to $5,000; hmmm, for that, I can set you up in a “luxury” condo building, dude.
