How experienced is your Boston real estate broker?
Just read an article that many agents and brokers are leaving the industry. I think this was needed and is a common when mortgage rates increase and affordable Boston condos for sale listings decrease.
Below is a few brief paragraphs that summarize what’s happening to the industry. From the Wall Street Journal:
Realtors Quitting
Not only will there be more consolidation among brokerages, but the exodus of agents leaving the business should increase as well. Many will ‘retire’ officially, as they age out and can’t keep up. Others won’t want to spend the money or work as hard/smart as needed to scratch out a living.
Everyone will be at risk.
It’s ok – we’ve needed to right-size the realtor population for a long time.

How experienced is your Boston real estate broker?
This is old news, but a record number of people are changing jobs, quitting jobs, and of course becoming Boston real estate agents. I get a kick out of it when I see “I got my real estate
license” in a Facebook post. It is as if there is a real estate license out there for everyone with their name already on, and do you truly want to buy a Boston condo from someone who just received their license this month?
After announcing that they got their Boston real estate license they let us all know that they are ready to help with all of your real estate needs. I saw one who offered to help buy or sell your dream home.
There are people out there grabbing up those licenses and they are ready to help. New agents don’t know how little they know and that is what gives them the confidence to move forward and offer to help friends and family with the largest financial transaction they may ever have.
It is October, but I am not trying to scare you.
