“Hot today, isn’t it?” said the cashier, ringing up the 24-pack of popsicles.

“I used to mind the heat. Now, not so much.”

He walked down Cambridge Street and sat at a small grass area that served as a park to the homeless. He gave a popsicle to each homeless person who approached.

“Why are you doing that?” asked the old woman who shared his bench.

“Because someone did it for me when I was down on my luck. Orange?” handing her a popsicle.
