Beacon Hill brokers Heartbreak
There was a time. I had a goal to open the most Boston real estate offices in my area. I started my goal by opening one office in Beacon Hill, followed by Midtown, and one in Brookline Village..
Then one day, reluctantly, I accepted the fact that the Boston real estate market was changing. No longer was it needed to have an office on a busy street, or on the best street corner.
I was heart broken at first, when I started to close my real estate offices.
As one Boston condo broker told me, “Heartbreak is always the catalyst to a new path”
I now work form home, in a nice house, in the respected town of Winchester.
Question. Is the suburbs, the place where one is forgotten?
Last night, walking on a suburban street, one passes house after house with their manicured lawns on each side of the street. Each with families at home, staring at the blue light emanating from the TV, or sitting on the couch tapping away at the keyboard on their laptops
In the evening, silence in the yards, except the dogs barking at me because they’re confused, as I pass by them on human feet instead of wheels.
At home, I noticed car lights coming up our newly brick driveway.
I hear the auto garage door open.
She climbs up the basement stairs to the Livingroom corridor, with Thai food emanating from the two bags. We open the white containers and take portions out of each one, as then, we take our food to the Livingroom and turn on the next episode of the Netflix show – You.
I’m beginning to love the suburbs, this Beacon Hill broker is no longer heartbroken.
