My thoughts: Between January 1, 2005 and June 30, 2005,
2286 condos were sold in the city of Boston (sales closed during this time period). Today, 2267
condos are on the market. Roughly, this means there is a six-month supply of condos. That’s not
too high, not too low, especially considering it is January, not a very busy time for buyers.
Still, remember what was reported this week – many sellers have taken their properties off the
market because they couldn’t get any buyers to make offers. We will need to wait to see what
develops over the coming months, whether the market stays as it is now, or gets better (more
buyers) or worse (I go broke).
