Archstone-Smith (hypen?) is a national apartment developer and owner which has recently opened its first downtown Boston apartment complex. It is called Archstone Boston Common and is located in Chinatown (you’ll have to go pretty high in the building to see the Boston Common, btw).
Archstone is also building an apartment tower in East Cambridge, near the new One First and NorthPoint condo projects (theirs is the building at the corner).
The developer builds what are considered “luxury apartments”. I haven’t seen the inside of any, so I can’t comment.
I will say this – Archstone likes big! And, unimpressive, at least in regard to architecture.
