Yesterday, I noticed new streetlights were being installed along Newbury Street. The new lights are 17’ tall (the old gas looking lamps were 13’). The new lights have a plastic frosted acorn style with a black cap and finial top.
I was told that the new streetlights were installed for energy-saving purposes. Also, the new light posts are made of steel and the old lamp post were made out of (two piece) cast iron. The steel posts will be more secured if hit by a delivery trucks.
What are your thoughts? Do you like these new lamp posts?
