The Globe has a big story on the Hotel Commonwealth’s “Luxury Baseball Suite,” which is full of authentic baseball memorabilia, big-screen TVs, exclusive baseball movies and other baseball-themed amenities.

The price for the suite: $755 a night. May sound like a lot. But it matches the number of home runs hit by Hank Aaron, so that does take a little sting out of the price.

From the Hotel Commonwealth web site’s description of the room:

1.Classic baseball memorabilia, including a 1967 World Series program (Boston Red Sox vs. St. Louis Cardinals at Fenway Park) and a collection of vintage trading cards featuring Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Ted Williams, Johnny Pesky and Jackie Robinson

2. 50″ plasma flat screen television and a corresponding DVD library with more than 40 classic baseball films

3. Luxurious marble bathroom with Fresh bath amenities

State of the art telecommunications system with IDAPT universal charging station, iPhone/iPod docking system and VoIP Telephones

Perhaps the only thing better would be a Luxury Pats Football Tailgate Room. Can you imagine lounging out all afternoon watching Pats and the Red Zone, ringing for room service? … Twenty more PBRs and five more orders of baby-back ribs, please! … Come to think of it, maybe it’s not such a good idea, from a hoteliers point of view.
