Boston named one of the best places for real estate agents to work

As real estate markets across the country continue to thrive, more than ever, agents are playing a critical role in the home buying and selling process as housing inventory remains challenged.

Where are the best places for agents to work? Boston is one of them.

Using 2019 data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Occupational Employment Statistics, Sundae released its list of the top 20 cities for real estate agents to work based on median wage and employment. 

Boston Real Estate Agents Salaries

Having stayed strong throughout the pandemic, Boston ranked No. 9 on the list, with a median annual wage that was 38.6% greater than the national average ($67,820), a 90th percentile wage 12.2% greater than the national average ($125,470), a median hourly wage of $32.61 and an employment rate of 1,660 (0.6 per 1,000 jobs). 

 The report also noted Boston ranked No. 9 in the Urban Land Institute’s 2021 Emerging Trends in Real Estate list of the 10 hottest housing markets.

Housing sales in Massachusetts 

Housing sales in Massachusetts are projected to increase by 5.4% over the next year, with downtown Boston being one of the few markets with above-average inventory, according to the report
