Never let it be said the city of Boston is behind on its ticket-writing.
Six months after a new law was passed for “green tickets,” the city has racked up almost $380,000 in collections for such “green” violations as overgrown weeds, improper trash storage, overfilling trash barrels, graffiti, etc.
Of course the city says its all an effort to combat foreclosure “blight” when properties sit abandoned and unsold. The city now is warning 280 property owners that it may slap liens on their properties if they don’t cough up the $500,000 owed on outstanding tickets.
